Teachers and Reading - O Professor e a Leitura

  A pesquisa Retratos da Leitura no Brasil, feita pelo Instituto Pró-Livro no ano passado, mostrou que os professores são os maiores influenciadores desse hábito. "Isso mostra a crescente importância da escola frente ao papel dos pais, que muitas vezes não conseguem dar esse exemplo", afirma Karine Pansa, presidente do Instituto Pró-Livro.

  "Logo, se tem esse status de influenciador, o professor precisa ser letrado, gostar de ler". No Brasil, no entanto, muita gente ainda corre dos livros.

  O resultado da pesquisa mostrou que apenas 50% dos brasileiros são considerados leitores - segundo a metodologia, pessoas que leram pelo menos um livro nos três meses precedentes ao questionário da pesquisa. É um índice menor que os 55% registrados em 2007.
